iHT2 Health IT Summit in Beverly Hills

The Institute for Health Technology Transformation (iHT2) has scheduled an HIT conference Nov. 2-3 in Beverly Hills, Calif. This is one of a series of conferences the institute has scheduled throughout the country on an ongoing basis. Future conferences are scheduled in 2012: Phoenix in January, San Francisco in March, Atlanta in April, and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in June. These conferences are ideal for those involved in strategic technology consulting in the healthcare industry, as well as those involved in health management consulting.

Beverly Hills Agenda

The upcoming Beverly Hills summit will provide a number of panel discussions, case studies and the opportunity to network with others in the industry. Attendees will be placed in “Living Groups” to provide the opportunity to meet new contacts and maximize their conference experience.

Among the panel discussions planned over the two-day conference are:
·         Health Information Exchange – Challenges for the U.S. Healthcare System
·         Cloud Computing in the Healthcare Organization
·         Ensuring a Secure Mobile Healthcare Environment
·         Convergence of Quality and Core Incentives: Metrics and Reporting
·         Business Intelligence and Analytics

Case Studies

A number of presenters will offer case studies, providing first-hand experience with HIT deployments. For example, Dr. Keith Marton, former Senior Vice-President and Chief Medical Officer of Providence Health & Services, will present “Clinical Transformation: Experience of One System.” Dr. Marton will explain how he learned from and applied the best available practices faster and more effectively to achieve truly safe, high-quality care with the least waste in all parts of a 27 hospital system that employs over 50,000 workers.

In another case study – “Evidence-based Clinical Informatics: A Case Study at Stanford University” – Dr. Chris Longhurst will review the history of Stanford’s EMR implementation, the dramatic and groundbreaking finding that it was correlated with a mortality reduction, and future innovative efforts, including predictive analytics, health information exchange, and their partnership with Google for a personal health record. Dr. Longhurst is Chief Medical Officer for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, Calif.

Excellent training opportunity

The summit offers an outstanding training opportunity for anyone in the health management consulting or strategic technology consulting fields. Xerox Healthcare provides teams of consultants to the healthcare industry. If you are interested in advancing your Healthcare IT careers in either of these fields, you should consider talking with Xerox Healthcare at the website as well as Twitter and Facebook.
